Based on a complaint lodged by a female resident of Ulapane, Investigation Officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption arrested a male Office Employee Assistant and a female Employee Assistant of the Pensions Department at 12.01 p.m. and 12.02 p.m. on 04.07.2024. According to the complainant, the two suspects have solicited Rs. 30,000/- from the her to make necessary arrangements to speed up the matters for her to obtain her late husband’s pension and gratuity. They have accepted Rs. 4,000/- until they receive the solicited amount and have done the needful to get the gratuity. Again, they have solicited Rs. 30,000/- to speed up matters for her to get her husband’s pension and were arrested on allegations of soliciting and accepting Rs. 30,000/- as a bribe.
