When the complainant has taken necessary actions to obtain a loan from the Bank of Ceylon, one of the two guarantees provided by him was not a public servant. Therefore, the Grama Niladhari in charge of 244C Kovilkulam division assigned to the Divisional Secretariat of Vavuniya had solicited a table worth Rs.15,000/= or Rs.15,000/= as a bribe to sign the document provided by the Bank of Ceylon to verify that the said guarantee has an income. The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested the Grama Niladhari on alleged soliciting and receiving the said bribe on 31.03.2021 at Alayadi Street, Kovilkulam area.
