A businessman in Wariyapola area is carrying out a business selling purified water. A PHI assigned to the Office of the Medical Health Officer, Wariyapola has solicited a monthly bribe of Rs. 7,000/- to abstain from taking legal action against the businessman for not installing filters in the water tank and to issue recommendations from the Office of the Medical Health Officer to obtain the Environmental Protection License. The Investigation officers of CIABOC have arrested the suspected PHI when receiving the bribe of Rs. 7,000/- for the month of March at the house of the businessman on 24.03.2021.
