Investigation Officers of the Commission arrested the former Minister of Mass Media, Health and Environment, Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella on 07 th May 2025. The arrest was made in relation to three cases where corruption charges have been framed for causing an unlawful or illegal loss to the government. The Minister has appointed his friends, relatives and political supporters for the positions of his personal staff in each Ministry, and without employing them, he himself has obtained their salaries and allowances worth of Rs. 8,005,814.73 from the Ministries and has spent the money to make payments for his political supporters and for the maintenance of his political party office.
