Following a complaint lodged by a resident of the Ambalangoda area, Investigation Officers of the Commission arrested the Writ Executor and Summons Server of the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court on 5th June 2025 for allegedly soliciting and accepting a bribe from the complainant. The complainant stated that he personally filed a case in the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court regarding a land enjoyment dispute and, having received an unfavourable judgment, requested the full case proceedings on the advice of his counsel to appeal in the High Court. The Writ Executor allegedly solicited and accepted Rs. 5,000/- from the complainant, in addition to the government fee for issuing the full proceedings. Consequently, he was arrested inside the Balapitiya Court Complex at 12:23 p.m. on 5th June 2025.
