On 09 th May 2025, Investigation Officers of the Commission arrested the former Chairman of Walallawita Pradeshiya Sabha, Atukorala Don Udeni Priyanga, over allegations of accepting a sum of Rs. 5,480,000/- (Five million four hundred eighty thousand) on several occasions from the complainant in exchange for granting approval for the lands developed to sell in the Pradeshiya Sabha limit from during 2018 to 2022, while he was serving as the Walallawita Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman, and making the complainant pay Rs. 1,250,000/- (one million two hundred fifty thousand), which was the amount the Chairman had to pay the contractor for laying interlocks in his garden.

The suspect was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate and was later released on bail.
