The Panelist from Sri Lanka " CIABOC Commissioner II Justice Ranjith Silva" spoke of his country's technical assistance needs in relation to the "Citizen's Charter", which was based on the recognition by his government that many public officials did not fully understand their role as public servants.In order to address this , each public institution would display a clear outline of each step of the process required to receive services from the institution.Creating a transparent process would inform public officials of what was required from them,while at the same time ,prevent opportunities for corruption.
Police officer attached to Magistrate Court of Homagama convicted for offense of Bribery, earliest judgement given by the Magistrate Court, confirmed by High Court today.
4th of September 2018 held a Prevention Program at Zonal Education Office Udugama. Director Investigation Mr. Priyantha Chandrasiri,, ADL Ms. Thanuja Bandara, and other officers from CIABOC and the principles from that Udugama Zone participated in this programme.
Another landmark event organized by CIABOC naming " Towards a Clean and Up Right Country " was held on 1st September 2018 at the Gampaha District Secretariat Auditorium with the participation of Commissioner II Justice Lal Ranjith Silva, Commissioner III Mr. Neville Guruge and the Director General Mr Sarath Jayamanne President's Counsel of CIABOC.It was targeted the members of Civil Societies of the Gampaha District.
The new Bribery Commission Act being formulated will criminalise bribery in the private sector and bribery of foreign public officials, Commission’s Director General Sarath Jayamanne PC said.
