The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested two Investigation Officers serve at the Consumer Affairs Authority on an alleged solicitation and acceptance of a bribe of Rs. 10,000/- on 09.02.2023 in accordance with a complaint received to CIABOC.
The Investigation Officers of Consumer Affairs Authority, Polonnaruwa have conducted a raid regarding a price change mentioned in the incense stick packing manufactured by the Jeewaka Herbal (Pvt) Ltd where the complainant serves. The suspects were thus arrested in front of the People’s Bank, New Town, Polonnaruwa when soliciting and accepting the bribe of Rs. 10,000/- to accept the above products as productions and to abstain from filing a case against Jeewaka Herbal and not to file cases regarding incense stick products that have already been issued to the shops in Polonnaruwa area.
