Police Sergeant Arrested for Accepting a Bribe of Rs. 10,000/-

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Police Sergeant serves at the Division Criminal Investigation Unit assigned to Polonnaruwa Police Headquarters on an alleged solicitation and acceptance of a bribe of Rs. 10,000/- on 08.02.2023 in accordance with a compliant received to CIABOC.

The suspect was arrested near the old Bank of Ceylon, Kaduruwela when receiving the bribe of Rs. 10,000/- to abstain from taking legal action against the complainant on illegal function of his slaughter house and beef business.
