Declaration of Assets and Liabilities in terms of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 09 of 2023

The Declaration of Assets and Liabilities Law of No. 01 of 1975, as amended by Act No. 74 of 1988, mandates several categories of officials/individuals to declare their assets and liabilities. In addition to these categories, Section 80 of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 09 of 2023 identifies a number of other categories of officials/individuals for the declaration of assets and liabilities.

The Anti-Corruption Act also highlights the importance of a centralized database system for asset and liability declaration purposes, and until the said system is duly established, it has made several revisions to the Assets and Liabilities Declaration Form to be operative under the present Act.

It is possible to download the circular, which outlines the method for declaring assets and liabilities as per the Anti-Corruption Act No. 09 of 2023, and the revised Assets and Liabilities Declaration Form from the website of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption, www.ciaboc.gov.lk. from 01.03.2024 onwards.

All relevant officials/individuals are required to submit their Assets and Liabilities Declaration as per this circular until further notice.
