Awareness Raising Programme for Officers of the Department of Motor Traffic - 20.01.2024

As outlined in the National Action Plan for Combatting Bribery and Corruption in Sri Lanka, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption conducts programmes to raise awareness of the officers in the public service. Accordingly, it conducts a series of programmes for officers of the Department of Motor Traffic, and one programme of the series was conducted at Motel Shanaya on 20th January 2024 for officers serving in Matara, Galle, Hambantota and Monaragala Districts.

This one-day workshop covered areas such as legal provisions related to bribery and corruption, creating a clean public service through positive attitudes, enhancing the value of integrity, and where Sri Lanka stands internationally in terms of the Corruption Perceptions Index.

JURE project of UNDP funded the programme
Mr. Tharindu Dananjaya Weerasinghe, Senior Lecturer (University of Kelaniya), delivered the keynote speech of the programme. Mrs. Ama Wijesinghe ( Assistant Director (Legal) of the CIABOC, and Prvention Officers Miss. T. M. Nipuni Koshila Tennakoon and Mrs. Udeshika Madhubashini Jayasekara provided the resource contribution.
