02 years rigorous imprisonment for a Divisional Secretary suspended for 5 years

Ms. Dulani Amarasinghe, predecessor Judge of Magistrate’s Court has sentenced 02 years rigorous imprisonment suspending for 05 year to the former Divisional Secretary of Hingurakgoda on 01.02.2019 during a trial proceeded on an anonymous complaint received by CIABOC.

Furthermore, a fine of Rs.100,000/- has been imposed and 06 months simple imprisonment in default of fine. The case has been prosecuted by Mrs. Anuradha Siriwardene, Assistant Director of Legal of CIABOC.
