Investigation Officers of the Commission, on 11th June 2025, arrested Rajapakse Subasing Pathiranage Nipuni Krishnajina, a resident of Embilipitya who worked as a maid at former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella’s residence, in connection with an ongoing investigation into misappropriation of salaries and overtime payments of the government by the former minister through making false appointments to the Health Ministry.

Following a complaint lodged by a resident of the Ambalangoda area, Investigation Officers of the Commission arrested the Writ Executor and Summons Server of the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court on 5th June 2025 for allegedly soliciting and accepting a bribe from the complainant. The complainant stated that he personally filed a case in the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court regarding a land enjoyment dispute and, having received an unfavourable judgment, requested the full case proceedings on the advice of his counsel to appeal in the High Court. The Writ Executor allegedly solicited and accepted Rs. 5,000/- from the complainant, in addition to the government fee for issuing the full proceedings. Consequently, he was arrested inside the Balapitiya Court Complex at 12:23 p.m. on 5th June 2025.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has made arrangements to conduct a series of Bribery and Corruption Prevention Programmes for the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited. The first programme in the series was conducted successfully on 23rd May 2025, and was attended by nearly 40 officers.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption is conducting a series of Corruption Prevention Programmes targeting 1,400 CEB employees of the Sabaragamuwa Province. The third programme in the series was held on 21st May 2025 at the Teacher Training Centre in Meneripitiya, with approximately 110 officers from the Sabaragamuwa Province in attendance.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption conducted a Corruption Prevention Programme for officers of the Dangerous Drugs Control Board on 20th May 2025. The programme was held at their Regional Office in Nittambuwa, and all employees of the branch attended it.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption conducted a Corruption Prevention Programme for officers of the Ceylon Electricity Board on 29th April 2025. The programme was held at the CEB’s Awissawella Regional Office, with approximately 80 officers in attendance, including the Electrical Engineer of the Regional Office.

Investigation Officers of the Commission arrested the former Chairman of Lindula-Talawakelle Urban Council, Asoka Sepala, on 02 nd June 2025 for committing the offence of corruption by causing a loss of Rs. 2,380,000/- (two million three hundred eighty thousand) to the government by awarding the tender of the number 12 beef stall belonging to the Council to a bidder who offered a lower value.
