The National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA), one of Sri Lanka's most crucial institutions providing industrial education standardization services, conducted a comprehensive capacity building programme on July 23rd, 2025, in collaboration with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) at the NAITA main auditorium. The full-day intensive session, running from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, brought together all NAITA executives including the Chairman to address critical governance issues affecting the institution's operations across its 24 district units.

Following a complaint lodged by a businessman from the Okkampitiya Gaminipura area, Investigation Officers of the Commission arrested a Chief Inspector of the Okkampitiya Police Station while accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000.

A broker who accepted a bribe of Rs. 10,000/- was arrested by the Commission’s Investigation Officers during a raid conducted near the Motor Traffic Department in Narahenpita.

An Awareness Raising Programme, aimed at fostering a clean and ethical public service, was held for employees at the Postal Department Headquarters on 7 July 2025. The event took place in the Headquarters auditorium, with the Postmaster General, Mr. Ruwan Sathkumara, along with Executive Officers, Staff Grade Officers, and other staff members in attendance.

A Corruption Prevention Programme was conducted on 05 July 2025 for Staff Grade officers and other officers at the Road Passenger Transport Board, Southern Province. The programme was held in the auditorium of the Southern Province Development Training Institute with nearly 150 officers in attendance.

A Corruption Prevention Programme was conducted on 30 May 2025 for Staff Grade officers and other officers at the National Youth Council. The programme was held in the main auditorium of the Youth Council with nearly 100 officers in attendance.

Gardi Hewage Don Shan Yahampath Gunaratne, a Private Secretary to former Labour and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara, was arrested by the Commission on 22 July 2025. The arrest was made in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged solicitation of bribes from an institution that submitted bids to conduct Outbound Training for officers of the Foreign Employment Bureau, interfering with the procurement process and accepting Rs. 4.3 million from the institution selected after such undue interference.

Investigation Officers of the Commission arrested a Police Constable (PC) attached to Raddoulgama Police Station on 14 July 2025. The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by a resident of Raddolugama. According to the complainant, the Constable had taken his driving license in connection with a traffic offence and solicited a bribe of Rs. 3,000/- to return it without pursuing legal action. Consequently, the PC was arrested at Wettewa Junction, Raddolugama, while accepting the bribe.

On 14th July 2025, Investigation Officers of the Commission arrested three Motor Traffic Department officers in connection with the illegal registration of vehicle GS-9164, which is part of an ongoing investigation into vehicles that evaded Customs clearance procedures and registered illegally with the Department of Motor Traffic. The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) conducted an awareness session on June 9, 2025, at the Airport & Aviation Services main auditorium in Katunayake, focused on preventing bribery and corruption in specialized operating areas within the Civil Aviation Authority.

The Commission has organised a series of Corruption Prevention Programmes for officers of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, with another session held on 17 June 2025 at their office in Nawala. Mr. Sampath Arachchige, Prevention Officer of the Commission, shared valuable insights with attendees on the concept of integrity and emphasised the role and responsibilities of an efficient and effective public officer. He also briefed them on the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023, and laws related to bribery, corruption, and unlawful accumulation of assets. Furthermore, he explained the role of the Internal Affairs Units, and before concluding the programme, addressed the questions raised by the participants.

North Division) arrested over allegations of soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 180,000/- The Commission’s Investigation Officers arrested a Police Constable and a Constable driver of the Police Crime Division on 9 th July 2025 for accepting a bribe of Rs. 180,000 from a three-wheeler driver. The arrest was made based on a complaint lodged by the three-wheeler driver.
