Launch of the Centralized Electronic Assets and Liabilities Declaration System

The Centralized Electronic Assets and Liabilities Declaration System, a key requirement for the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023, was launched on 31 March 2023 at the auditorium of the International Studies Center, located within the premises of the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.

The launch of this new system is an important step towards the practical implementation of the strong legal framework established by the Anti-Corruption Act. It also marks the introduction of modernization, independence, and efficiency to Sri Lanka’s anti-corruption efforts.

Until now, the declaration of assets and liabilities in Sri Lanka has been carried out through manually completed printed forms. The establishment of this centralized electronic system represents not merely a transition to an online format, but the full digitalization of the entire declaration process. The system has also been designed with verification tools to detect false declarations and instances of unexplained wealth.

The Secretary to the Prime Minister, Secretaries to Ministries, senior government officials, and representatives of foreign agencies graced the occasion.
