The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested an excise officer who serves at Padukka  Excise Station , Galagedara on alleged soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000/= on 16.09.2022 in accordance with a complaint received by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

The suspect had taken Rs.5000/= as a bribe on several occasions in order to support the complainant’s illegal alcohol (kasippu) business without taking legal actions against the said business. Further, the suspect was thus arrested when he had solicited and accepted Rs.5,000/- as a bribe with regard to the month of September 2022 at 54/1, Beliattawila, Kahawala, Padukka.
