Two persons arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/=

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested the United Sri Lanka District Organizer of Jaffna who is engaged in politics and a Justice of Peace (all island) on alleged soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000/= on 06.09.2022 in accordance with a complaint received by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

The suspected district organizer had requested Rs.150,000/= and a sexual bribe in order to grant a government job for the complainant and then reduced the said amount to Rs.50,000/=. The relevant suspect and the other suspect who aids and abets to receive the said bribe were arrested at the Testa bakehouse in the floating market in front of Pettah private bus stand.
