The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested an Office Work Assistant attached to the Regional Office, Ratmalana of the Road Passenger Transport Authority on alleged soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000/= in front of a hotel at Soysapura junction in Ratmalana on 07.04.2021 in accordance with a complaint lodged by a businessman in Moratuwa.
The suspect was thus arrested when he had solicited and accepted a bribe of Rs. 5,000/- to take necessary actions to obtain the transport permit of the year 2021, a log sheet and stickers with route numbers expeditiously from the Regional Office, Ratmalana of the Road Passenger Transport Authority on behalf of bus bearing no: NG-5550 which is owned by the complainant and registered under the name of the brother in law of the said complainant.
