A Member of the Pradeshiya Sabha , Nikaweratiya arrested for receiving a bribe of Rs. 425,000/=

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Member of the Pradeshiya Sabha of Nikaweratiya on alleged acceptance of a bribe of Rs.425,000/= at a private restaurant in Nikaweratiya- Puttalam Road on 02.03.2021 in accordance with a complaint lodged by a resident in Nikaweratiya.

The suspect was arrested when he had solicited and received a bribe of Rs.425,000/=to do the needful on behalf of the complainant to transport soil without any hindrance (Rs.1000/= per one soil tipper truck).
