A Senior Assessor of the Department of Provincial Revenue - Sabaragamuva arrested for receiving a bribe of Rs. 35,000/-

The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a Senior Assessor assigned to the Department of Provincial Revenue - Sabaragamuva on 17.02.2021 in the Regional Office, Kegalle of the Department of Provincial Revenue - Sabaragamuva on alleged receiving a bribe of Rs. 35,000/ in accordance with a complaint lodged by a resident in Aranayaka, Mavathagoda.

She has requested Rs. 50,000/-in order to do the needful to deduct the due stamp duty when registering a land belongs to the complainant. However, the said amount has been deducted to Rs. 35, 000/-and she has been arrested when receiving it.
