The Investigation Officers of CIABOC have arrested a civil person reside in Nochchiyagama, Pahala Maragahawewa, Katupathwewa on 27.01.2021 on a complaint received from a resident of Rajanganaya on alleged soliciting and receiving a bribe.
The arrest was taken place in the Heraliya Ran Arana Hotel situated in front of the Nochchiyagama bus stand when receiving the bribe of Rs. 150,000/-. The suspect has solicited the bribe from the complainant saying that the Police Officers and the Judicial Officers should be paid to obtain bail from the High Court, Anuradhapura for a suspect who is currently in remand custody on charges of influencing witnesses.
