The Grama Niladhari of Borella-South Grama Niladhari Division arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/-

On a complaint received, the Investigation Officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, on 23.03.2023 arrested the Grama Niladhari of Borella South Grama Niladhari Division attached to Thibirigasyaya Divisional Secretariat on an alleged solicitation and acceptance of a bribe of Rs.50,000/-.

The suspect was arrested at her office when soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/- in order to include the complainant’s and his wife’s names into the electoral register of the Borella South Grama Niladhari Division.
