The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, in collaboration with the People’s Bank, conducted a Bribery and Corruption Prevention Programme for officers of the Bank on 19 January 2026. The programme was held in the main auditorium of the Bank with the participation of nearly 245 officers, including the Chairman.
The resource persons - Ms. Thanuja Bandara, Assistant Director General of the Commission; Mr. Kasun Gunawarnasuriya, Assistant Director (Legal); and Mrs. Chamodi Jayasinghe, Prevention Officer - educated the participants on the prevention of bribery and corruption and its consequences. Participants were also briefed on the concept of integrity and the provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act. The programme concluded with an interactive discussion, during which questions raised by participants were addressed.
