A Prevention Programme, themed “Towards a Country of Integrity”, was held on 6th June 2025 for Staff Grade officers of the Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation. The programme took place in the auditorium at the “Maga Neguma Mahamedura” premises.
Here, participants were educated on the new Anti-Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023 and its novel trends. It also addressed negative effects of bribery and corruption on society, the Corruption Perception Index, and the Declaration of Assets and Liabilities. Additionally, the importance of prevention in eliminating bribery and corruption to establish a clean and upright country was also discussed.
During the opening remarks, the Secretary to the Ministry, Senior Professor Kapila C.K. Perera, briefed the audience on the programme’s objectives. Prevention Officers Miss Nipuni Koshila Thennakoon and Mr. Shilamega Welithotage delivered lectures on behalf of the Commission.
