On 13/03/2013, a Police Constable attached to Uppuweli Police Station was  taken in to custody by the Investigation Officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on 13/03/2013  for soliciting & accepting Rs.3000/= in order to grant relief on a complaint lodged by the complaisant regarding a dispute over money.

The Field Assistant who acted for the posts of  Land Officer &  Unit Manager- Nochchiyagama divisional office was  taken in to custody by the Investigation Officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on 01/03/2013  for soliciting & accepting Rs.50,000/= in order to prepare a deed in the name of the complainant for the paddy land the complainant is in possession of.

The complainant was sawing a Mahogany tree on the land owned by him and  the suspects had taken the two chain saws being used in sawing timber alleging that the tree is situated on a land  identified as a reservation . They had solicited Rs.15,000/= to refrain from instituting action for the two chain saws and to release them. On 15/02/2013, they  were  taken in to custody by the Investigation Officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption for accepting same through a third person.

A police constable attached to the Community Services Division, Head Quarters Branch, Bandarawela has solicited Rs.2500/= in order to refrain from instituting legal action on an allegation of breeding dengue mosquitoes in the residential premises of the complainant. The suspect had accepted Rs.1000/= out of it earlier and on 1/2/2013, he was  taken in to custody by the Investigation Officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption for accepting the balance Rs.1500/=
