On 16/05/2012, the Divisional Secretary Akurana was taken into custody by the Investigation Officers of the Bribery Commission for soliciting and accepting Rs.50,000/- though an intermediary in order to give his recommendation for the permit and to assist in the future operation of the quarry without hindrance.

On 16/05/2012, the officer-in-charge of the Private Bus stand Akkaraipattuwa was taken into custody by the Investigation Officers of the Bribery Commission for soliciting and accepting Rs.200/- in order to place his signature for the running chart of the bus Reg.No.61-5400 plying between Akkaraipattu and Batticaloa.

On 15/05/2012, the Grama Niladhari of 102 A Dadalla Grama Niladhri Division was taken into custody by the Investigation Officers of the Bribery Commission for soliciting Rs.5,000/- and accepting Rs.1,500/- in order to attend to the deed of the new house granted in place of the house destroyed under the Tsunami.

On 15/05/2012, the Registrar of Birth, Death & Marriages Yatigaha South Koralaya was taken into custody by the Investigation Officers of the Bribery Commission for soliciting and accepting Rs.250/- in order to issue 3 Marriage Certificates.
