On 04/07/2012 an Investigation Assistant attached to Department of Archeology was taken into custody by the Investigation Officers of the Bribery Commission for soliciting and accepting Rs.125,000/- in order to obtain the recommendation from  the Department of Archeology for a land for mining of gems.

On 04/07/2012, a driver attached to the Divisional Secretariat Galewela was taken into custody by the Investigation Officer of the Bribery Commission for soliciting and accepting Rs.12,500/- in promise of getting the recommendation of the Divisional Secretary for the reports to be sent to District Forest Office Matale enabling the complainant to get the permit for timber.

On 29/06/2012, two electrical technicians attached to Sri Lanka Electricity (Pvt) Ltd. were taken into custody by the Investigating officers of the Bribery Commission for soliciting and accepting Rs.10,000/- to refrain from disconnecting the Electricity supply.

On 21/06/2012, the Grama Niladhari of 515 C Grama Niladhari Division, Kandegama was taken into custody by the Investigation Officers of the Bribery Commission for soliciting and accepting Rs.4,000/- in order to communicate to the Land Reform Commission and establish that the complainant is in possession of the unauthorized land he resides in and to issue the deed.
