අල්ලස  දණ්ඩනීති සංග්‍රහය අනුව දඩුවම්   ලැබිය හැකි අපරාධ ගනයේ වරදක් ලෙස නීතිගතව ඇත්තේ වර්ෂ   1883 වැනි ඈතකදීය. අල්ලස් පනත - වර්ෂ  1954 දී නීතිගත විය. අංක  40 පනත යටතේ  1958 වර්ෂයේ අල්ලස් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව අධිකරණ අමාත්‍යාංශය යටතේ පිහිටුවන ලදී.

  • World Anti-Corruption Day Celebration 2013, organized by this Commission was held on 09th December, 2013 at the BMICH. His Lordships the Chief Justice and Hon. Attorney General were participated this event as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor respectively. 

    Delivering the key note address, the Chief Justice said that Anti-Corruption activities should begin at home. He added that those offering gratifications and those accepting them are equally culpable.

  • The Commemoration of International Anti-Corruption Day 2015 and the “Walk” was held under the patronage of H.E the President Maitripala Sirisena on 09.12.2015. It was a joint effort of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption, Transparency International and Civil Society organizations. The “Walk” was  commenced at 3.00pm from Vihara Maha Devi Park and reached Independence Square, at 4.00pm.

    The Commemoration Ceremony commenced at 4.05pm with the lighting of the oil lamp by H.E President, distinguished invitees, Commissioners and Director General of the Bribery Commission.

    About 3000 participants attended this event.

  • Speaking at a press conference held at the Commission auditorium on 19 February 2015, the new Director General Mrs. Dilrukshi Dias Wickremasinghe stated that the Commission works around the clock in order to clear the staggering 1600 complaints piled up at the Commission.

     “As I assumed duties as the new Director General, the Augean task of clearing the large number of complaints was upon me. Currently there are 1600 such complaints pending clearance.” she said

    However she confirmed that within a short period of one week she and her team were able to divert 423 files to the relevant divisions for investigations. 

    She further stated that there are significant limitations in terms of the resources available to the Commission such as office space and employees. She stated that there are 48 cadre vacancies in the Investigations Unit that are yet to be filled, for which interviews are scheduled to be held shortly.

    The Director General concluded stating that the public can make any complaint to the following hotline and email address against any Commission officer receiving bribes or engaging in corrupt practices.

  • The 11th Reginal Seminar of the Asian Deverlopment Bank/Organization for Economic and Co-opeation Deverlopment [ADB/OECD ] Anti- Corruption Initiative for Asia - Pacific and the 17th Steering Grop Meeting ADB/OECD took place in Hanoi, Vietnam from 21/10/2012 to 25/10/2012 hosted by the Government of Vietnam. Hon.Justice D.J.De S. Balapatabendi, the Chairman of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery Corruption attended this conference.

  • The 2nd Reginal Conference on Financial Disclosures by Public Officials was held in Bangkok Thailand from 27th March 2012 to 30th March 2012. Dr Jayantha Wickramaratne, Memeber of the Commission, attended this conference representing the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
