අල්ලස දණ්ඩනීති සංග්රහය අනුව දඩුවම් ලැබිය හැකි අපරාධ ගනයේ වරදක් ලෙස නීතිගතව ඇත්තේ වර්ෂ 1883 වැනි ඈතකදීය. අල්ලස් පනත - වර්ෂ 1954 දී නීතිගත විය. අංක 40 පනත යටතේ 1958 වර්ෂයේ අල්ලස් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව අධිකරණ අමාත්යාංශය යටතේ පිහිටුවන ලදී.
A group of state experts consisting 2 members from Papua New Guinea, 06 members from Peoples Republic of China and 02 members from United Nations office of Drugs & Crime had arrived Sri Lanka. From 03/07/2013 to 05/07/2013 they had reviewed the gap analysis report prepared in relation to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and the existing laws of Sri Lanka.
The CIABC had been entrusted to facilitate & organize the entire visit and CIABC had successfully accomplished same.The said team had visited several state & private organizations including the CIABC and had reviewed the facts contained in the said report. They held several rounds of talk with the Ministry of Justice, Police Dept., Interpol, Public Service Commission, Institute of Charted Accountants, representatives of civil societies, representatives from the United Nations Development programme and Asian Development Bank.
Gap analysis between United Nations Convention Against Corruption and existing laws pertaining to bribery or corruption in Sri Lanka, has been completed. Checklist is submitted for the approval of the Consultative committee. The Consultative Committee is headed by the Hon. Attorney General and other members of the committee are, Hon. Justice D J De S Balapatabendi Chairman CIABOC, Mr. Nihal Jayamanne P C, Chairman of the Law Commission, Mr. Suhada Gamlath PC, Secretary to the Ministry of Justice and Law Reform, Mrs Theres Perera PC, Legal Draftman and Mr Thusantha Wijemanne, Legal Advisor of the Ministry of External Affairs.
A traning programme of the United Nations Convension Against Corruption was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and upon receiving an invitation, Ms. Luckshmi Jayawickrama, the Director General of the Bribery Commission has left the country on 11/09/2012 to attend same and returned to Sri Lanka on 14/09/2012 after completing same successfully.
One of the several meetings funded by ADB scheduled in order to identify the amendments to the Bribery Act was held at the CIABC auditorium on 02/04/2013 with the participation of the officers of the Attorney Generals Dept. and the officers of the CIABC.
The 4th Corruption Prevention Workshop among Deverloping Countries was held in Beijing, Chaina from 15th July 2012 to 22nd July 2012 with the participation of 18 countries. On an invitation extended by the Government of China, Dr Jayantha Wickramaratne, Member of the Commission, and Mr A.P Liyanage, Chief Inspector of Police attended this conference representing the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery Corruption.
